Gordon College sophomore Amanda Jones (Elbert County HS) was recently
named a National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) Distinguished
Academic All-American for the 2008-09 academic year. To be considered for the
honor of Distinguished Academic All-American, a student-athlete must have at
least a 3.80 grade point average. Jones completed her two years at Gordon with
an impressive 4.0 grade point average. She is currently attending Georgia
College & State University to complete her bachelors degree in education.

Equally impressive was the grade point average for the 2009 softball team. The
Highlanders posted a 3.09 gpa and has been recogized by the
NJCAA as a Spring 2009 All-Academic Team.
