Amanda Jones Named NJCAA Distinguished Academic All-American

Jones leads the way with a perfect 4.0 while the rest of the 2009 Highlander softball team was recognized by the NJCAA for their academic excellence.
Gordon College sophomore Amanda Jones (Elbert County HS) was recently named a National Junior College Athletics Association (NJCAA) Distinguished Academic All-American for the 2008-09 academic year. To be considered for the honor of Distinguished Academic All-American, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.80 grade point average. Jones completed her two years at Gordon with an impressive 4.0 grade point average. She is currently attending Georgia College & State University to complete her bachelors degree in education. Equally impressive was the grade point average for the 2009 softball team. The Highlanders posted a 3.09 gpa and has been recogized by the NJCAA as a Spring 2009 All-Academic Team.
