Competition Strong For Highlanders
09. 29. 2009
More than 150 runners from predominantly four-year institutions crowded the pathways at the Mercer University RunFit Invitational this past Saturday. Sandwiched in between one of the largest high school meets in the state of Georgia, the Gordon College cross country team found a very competitive field in their fifth straight appearance this season.
Elizabeth Gresham and Marlene Escobar were the top runners for the women’s team while Robert Bradham once again set the tone for the men’s team. Brandon Lewis and Dashwa Rodgers also had strong performances for the Highlanders. The cross country team will continue to train this week but will not return to competition until October 10. On that date, GC will remain in state and travel to Marietta for the Southern Challenge.
