Individual Performances Highlight Rock Ranch

The cross country team stayed close to home over the Labor Day weekend as they hosted the Rock Ranch Collegiate Invitational on Saturday. Overcast skies and a festive atmosphere greeted the seven teams as they prepared for the second annual event at The Rock.
Once again, freshman Elizabeth Gresham was one of the top runners for GC while sophomore Marlene Escobar also turned in a solid performance for the Lady Highlanders. Freshman Robert Bradham continues to excel on the men’s team as he finished seventh overall in the 8K with a time of 28:54.21. Bradham was followed by teammate Brandon Lewis who also placed in the top 25. Darton College went on to win both the women and men’s team competition. The cross country team is back on the road this Saturday (Sept. 12) as they travel to Berry College in Rome for a 9 a.m. meet.
