First Meet Provides Mixed Results
09. 02. 2009
The women’s and men’s cross country team kicked off the 2009 season at Young Harris College over the weekend. The mountains provided a great setting and tough challenge for the young squad on their first outing.
Even though the women did not place in the event, it was a great learning experience against other collegiate runners. Gordon College was led by newcomers Elizabeth Gresham and Chelsea Patterson. For the men's competition, freshman Robert Bradham helped secure a third place finish for GC. He was the top men’s runner for the Highlanders with a time of 30:26.9 and finished eighth overall in the meet. The cross country team must now get ready for their only home event this Saturday (Sept. 5) at the Rock Ranch Invitational. The course is located six miles outside of Barnesville on Highway 36. Admission for the event is $5.00.
