The Gordon College men's basketball team will welcome a high-flying visitor to the final home game of the 2008-2009 season for Student Fan Appreciation Night. Atlanta Hawks own "Skyhawk" will entertain the fans with a spectacular slam dunk show at halftime of the GC - South Georgia Tech game on Wednesday (February 25). Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in Alumni Memorial Hall.
It will also be the final appearance for five sophomores on Head Coach Israel Ingle's team. Lamar Elston, Gray McNeeley, Pete Driver, Willie Woodard, and Jonathon Harris will play at home one last time. "I can't say enough about these five players and what they have contributed to the men's basketball program at Gordon," said Ingle. "They will always be a special group to me!" After the final home game, the Highlanders will prepare for the upcoming Region 17 post-season basketball tournament March 5 - 7.
