After a disappointing road loss to Northwest Florida State College last night, the Gordon College Men's Basketball team will open the 2009-2010 home season on Wednesday against Brewton-Parker JV. The game will tip-off at 7:30 p.m. in Alumni Memorial Hall.
To record their first victory, the Highlanders must improve their offensive capabilities. DeAndre Cannon was the only GC player in double figures with 13 points along with six rebounds while newcomer Faibein Davis chipped in nine points. NFSC also applied defensive pressure that rattled the Highlanders and created a 16 - 2 run for the Raiders in the first half. GC could not overcome its first half woes and fell 83 - 48 to Northwest Florida State College. Head Coach Israel Ingle will be looking for a better performance on Wednesday and will be glad to be back home. Admission for all games is $5.00 for adults while children 14 and under are FREE! Season tickets will also be available at the door for $40.00.
